Atari Foundry · Micro Lab for 400/800, XL, XE
We build weird Atari 8-bit things because we can.
Software, hardware, merch—whatever keeps these machines interesting.
We’re a mad-science shop for Atari 8-bit computers. We prototype languages, flash cartridges, solder interface boards, write manuals, screen-print faceplates, and then toss everything into the vault so other builders can play along.
If it runs on 400/800, XL, or XE and sounds fun, we’re probably already hacking on it. Come raid the shelves.
Languages, utilities, test harnesses, and disk tools compiled straight to 6502.
Cartridges, interface boards, and diagnostics rigs—documented with BOMs and solder notes.
Faceplates, badge kits, stickers, and other lab souvenirs for your Atari bench.
ATRs, cassette masters, and ROM images that ship with checksums and duplication guidance.
Markdown manuals, schematics, and notebooks so you can see how the experiments came together.
Everything gets burned onto actual cartridges, disks, or tapes before it leaves the bench.
Build logs, wiring diagrams, and BOMs go public so you can recreate (or improve) the work.
If it sounds fun, we build it. If it’s useful, it ends up in the vault. Simple as that.
Finished boards, merch, or media runs show up in small batches. Miss it? Wait for the next experiment.
We grew up on 2600s, 400/800s, XL/XEs, and crusty BBS lines. That history leaks into every release.
We build the stuff we want to see on Atari 8-bit hardware—share it, sell it, or stash it in the vault. Come tinker, buy a board, or steal the plans. It’s all part of keeping these machines alive.
